pool party: invitation

here's the invitations for the pool party i'm doing for my niece! i am normally one to design/make my own invitations {i love photoshop}, but when i saw these on www.orientaltrading.com i just had to get them!
i wrote the party info on the little beach balls, & then folded them up & put them in waterproof necklace containers {that can even be mailed}. the guests blow up the beach balls to see the party info...so cute.
you could totally make these on your own, and wouldn't necessarily have to buy the pre-printed beach balls.

I buy beach balls every year for my kids end of year school parties. I got sick of the grimy shirts with names, these balls work so much better, deflate and place in scrapbook, new color each year. Nice idea!

I am already planning a pool party for my son's 2nd and already had my eye on these. Glad to see they look so cute with writing on them. I was unsure if they would look cheesy. Can't wait to see what you come up with for this party! I'll have my bookmarks waiting!

Cute!! I wrote our pool party invitations on flip flops and put a magnet on the back so they could hang it on the fridge! You can see it here...http://rhondas3boys.blogspot.com/2009/07/celebrating-part-2pool-party.html

You might like the turtle idea too!

Kara. I'm Audra's friend Jessie...I stalk your blog all the time and love it! I am trying to plan a b-day party for my sis...she is turning 15. All the ideas I come up with seem a litttle too young for her. Any good ideas? I loved the sugar and spice party...and I loved the alice in wonderland party...but I just can't decide. You need to move to Oregon for a day!

Cute idea! I'm surprised that you can mail those containers. Kids would really love getting something like that in the mail. :)

Thanks for the ideas! She is at a weird age...she used to be a tomboy and she is just starting to be more "girlie" but I think she's still a little shy or unsure about how to do it! She pretends she doesn't like all that stuff but deep down I think she just is embarrased. I decided to have a drive in movie party...that way the boys and girls will have fun. I have a friend with a projector so we are going to turn drive way into a movie theater. Should be fun! Hopefully I can pull it all together! I really love your blogs they are so great...since I've been working I have no desire to be crafty and fun but then I read all these fun blogs and I want to get back with it!

I love to send things in the mail in odd or different containers, what a cute idea!

I saw your comment and I wouldn't be surprised if I typed my email wrong. Here it is hopefully for real this time: positivelyperfectparty@gmail.com or if that still doesn't work try 2crabtrees@gmail.com

I don't have an etsy yet, I'm trying to see if it would be worth setting up first, ya know how much interest is really out there. For now I take orders via request by email.

Oh and I'm so looking forward to seeing what you do with that bling bridal shower.

hello! i adore these invites, unfortunately, i am from the philippines and it is so impossible for me to order them and have it shipped here. my daughter will be celebrating her 4th bday, and she wants to have a pool theme. i do want something like this for her invites as well. could you please share some ideas on how to make this? i probably could buy a beach ball, though i am sure there is no pre printed ones here. i hope you could help me make something like this. thanks so much

Hi farrah!
I'm sure you could write the invite info on the ball with a permanent marker :). How bout mailing them in cases for glasses (reading glasses or sunglasses)? Maybe that would work! Another reader commented and said that she bought inexpensive flip flops & wrote the party invite info on a flip flop...then glued a magnet to the back so it could be hung on the fridge :).
Hope this helps!
Let me know if you have any more questions!
