"What are Little Boys Made of" Birthday Party

How cute is this "WHAT ARE LITTLE BOYS MADE OF" BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Haley Tukere of Lovely Like You?! Such a splendid theme all about boys! I just love it.

Haley said-- “Having just started my new petite event business in Auckland, New Zealand called 'Lovely Like You' my sons first birthday was the perfect occasion to kick things off!

I wanted a theme that was original, age appropriate and although for a boy still soft and lovely to look at. After much thought, the old ‘What are Little Boys Made of?’ nursery rhyme seemed perfect for my little guy:

'What are little boys made of?
What are little boys made of?
Frogs and snails
And puppy-dogs' tails,
That's what little boys are made of.'

We are surrounded by gorgeous parks and given it was summer and we were talking ‘boys’ the outdoors seemed a great place to host the party.

I kept an element of rustic with old wooden crates, hessian (or burlap in the US) and brown card. Baby blue softened the mood and a dash of red here and there added punch to the overall colour scheme.

The main table was loaded with sweet treats, which included the chocolate 'frogs', 'snail' sweets and long marshmallow 'puppy dogs tails'. Delicious snail topped mini cupcakes and frog cake pops were created by Miss Melicious Cupcakes. My fabulous sister took on the challenge of sprinkling the cake (quite a task!) and my husband, who is a designer, created all the labels and tags.

Parents lounged on big mats under umbrellas and the kids enjoyed the park, sack races, egg and spoon races, the tee pee and the little store on the corner (named by my husband to the older kid’s amusement the 'Pip Pop Plop Shop’).

The children were given 'puppy dog tails' to wear and they took home a paper bag of froggy treats. It was a lovely day- relaxed, gorgeous and fun!”

Twilight Breaking Dawn Wedding Party

In celebration of Twilight's Breaking Dawn release, today I am featuring this stunning TWILIGHT WEDDING PARTY submitted by Melissa Chambers of Truly Chic Inspirations. All of you Twilight fans out there are going to LOVE this!

Melissa said-- “I'm a very big Twilight series fan and with the release of Breaking Dawn and the Cullen wedding I couldn't wait to celebrate! I wanted to capture the wedding and decided on an outdoor photo shoot. Using the 'Cullen' name was key. My sweet friend Sandy of Firefly Confections assisted me with the styling of this and we were blessed to have worked with such a talented photographer, Janelle’s Photography. Janelle made our vision come to life and incorporated the perfect ‘bride’ for the setting.”

Outdoor Movie Party

And the next party feature goes to this darling OUTDOOR MOVIE BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Caryl Lyons of ROAR events group. Such a perfect theme for a tween party! Look at the vintage movie reel cake & fun cookies! I love the Coca Cola crates, as well!

Here is what Caryl said about the party- "We just celebrated my son Tucker's 11th birthday and we wanted to do something a little different.  He was past the age of legos and super heros so we needed to think of a theme that would be COOL to a tween.
We decided on an outdoor movie theme mixed in with afternoon pool time.  The kids arrived around 4pm and immediately jumped in the pool.  They worked up an appetite with pizza.  As the sun was setting, we started the movie and they all huddled together.
The dessert table was a concession stand that had all the movie time favorites from licorice to starbursts to skittles to popcorn.  And of course a party wouldn't be complete without a film reel cake.
The party printables were done by Adria of Anders Ruff and my mom.  I gave my mom the vision of what I was going for and she drew the main graphic.  Adria digitized it and incorporated it into the rest of the look and feel.  The cake was created by Michelle of Cakewalk Baking.  She did an amazing job.  We had popcorn, film reel and star cookies that were baked up by Allyson Jane Cookies.  We purchased a 1968 vintage film reel off craigs list.  That was a great find.  We found the popcorn buckets and french fry containers (that we used for some of the concession stand goodies) from Cost Plus.  We went to our favorite paper store, The Paper Source for the envelopes and stickers for the invitations.  The red fabric for the concession stand back drop was from Joann's."

Girly Camping Themed Party

My next winning party feature goes to this beautiful CAMPING THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by the wonderful Wendy Updegraff Photography. This party theme is getting more and more popular..I can see why. It's just so fun! Wendy always does such a superb job. This party is adorable. The green chevron, pink, yellow and turquoise colors are my favorite. Take a look at the s'mores kits and leaf & tent cookies...so cute!
Here is what Wendy had to say about the party- "We came up with the theme of Camp Bella when we were looking at my Favorite Designer/Artist Lori Marie's website. We have a few of her pieces and love her style and colors, she is uber talented!!! We saw her feather headpiece and decided to have the whole party center around it! It turned out perfect and Bella and her friends had a great time!
It was raining most of the night so I was really glad we decided to have it all inside this year, a lot less stressful!! We managed to sneak outside for a few minutes here and there, to blow bubbles and to make s'mores (you can see the rain drops in the s'mores pictures!)."
