Mermaid Birthday Party

Today I am showcasing the cutest MERMAID BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Tami Goeckeritz of

Tami G. Photography. This party was actually the winner of my Summer Hostess Party Contest a few months back. Can you see why it got the most votes? So adorable. I love the vintage doors, the sand cake, the beach towel mermaid tails, the starfish sandwiches, the seahorse cookies, the "sea foam" cotton candy, the netting, the sand box & more! Tami did an amazing job!!

Here is what Tami said about the party- "Gwynn Wasson designed all of my cute printables, the invitations, banner, tiaras, name tags, Cotton Candy labels, cupcake wrappers and favor tags.  She worked so hard and designed exactly what I wanted! 

Brittany, from Edible Details, designed my darling cupcake toppers, the darling mermaids and the sea shells. I seriously LOVED them, she did such a great job!!

My table cloth was made by Nan, from Pots and Pins.

The wooden mermaid sign was done by Michelle Tucker from The little design company.

The cake was done by my friend Mari.

The cupcakes and the sea shell cookies were made by my friend Melanie.

The embroidered names on the place mats were done by Carol at Top Stitch in downtown Modesto.

My mom made the adorable mermaid tales out of beach towels.

Luau 1st Birthday Party

My next party feature goes to this super fun & happy LUAU 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Linda Schwartz of Frog Prince Cake & Cookie Design. Love this! I'm a sucker for summertime, so I just had to sneak this feature in. Hey, you can throw a luau any time of year, right?! 

This party is so cute. I just adore that cake! Check out the gummy pigs, the totem tiki's made out of marshmallows, square sugar cookies & tiki cupcakes! Everything is absolutely adorable. Great job, Linda! Thanks for your submission!

Boy Themed Ice Cream Party!

My next winning party feature goes to this original BOY THEMED ICE CREAM PARTY submitted & styled by Alexis Campbell. I love this! There are so many options for girly ice cream parties...but a boy one?! So cute! I love the orange, blue & green. The little birthday boy couldn't be cuter, too.

Alexis said- "After following your blog for sometime now, I decided to try and do the best I could at throwing my son a fabulous second birthday, We decided to have an ice cream/sweets party for my son Zachary's second birthday. He loves ice cream and loves to put all of the topping on especially sprinkles. We set up an ice cream table and a full sweets table. I made EVERYTHING myself. All of the food was made in my kitchen a few days before the party. I saw the paper art on one of your featured parties and I tried my best to duplicate it for the wall behind the ice cream table. Since my son is in LOVE with fire trucks, we had s fire truck and ambulance come to his party just for him. He was in awe! The party turned out great. The sweet were fantastic and he had a wonderful time. It couldn't have been any better." Great job, Alexis! Thanks for your submission!

Aloha {Goodbye} Summer Birthday Party

Saying goodbye to summer is always so hard for me. I'm such a sunshine and sand kind of girl. Sigh. Today's winning party feature is perfect...an ALOHA SUMMER {GOODBYE SUMMER} BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Anna & Blue Paperie! Such a gorgeous party! Stefanie did an amazing job. LOVE the creative wreath made out of drink umbrellas. And take a look at the handcrafted hibiscus flowers on the CAKE by DK Designs!

Stefanie said- "I incorporated warm and inviting colors of yellow, orange and fuchsia. A color palette that cheers for celebration! My goal was to create a look that could be recreated for children and adults and one that could be used for any occasion or event. Hibiscus flowers in the party’s color scheme were used throughout the party printables including cupcake toppers, dessert labels, kids table décor and party favors. 

The dessert table consisted of cupcakes with fondant toppers from Two Sugar Babies & Aloha themed cookies from Cookies Are My Canvas. The centerpiece for the table was a cake adorned with eco-chic hand crafted hibiscus flowers by DK Designs. My sweet hubby helped me make the colorful layered cake. His engineering skills came in handy! A happy and colorful bed linen print with bright swirls of flowers and paisley from Pottery Barn Teen was used as the backdrop for the dessert table. The dessert table was adorned with large paper flowers that were added to the backdrop. I made a table skirt using raffia hula skirts and I added a garland in matching party colors using leis from Party City. Celebration candles, candy cups and stripy straws were purchased from Sweet Lulu.

The birthday girls wore adorable custom rosette tanks created by Modern Frills and had matching flower hair accessories made by Looking 4 Lilly.

The guests were greeted at the door and welcomed with leis and hula skirts. Using inspiration from Kim at The Tomkat Studio’s Fairy Party tutu centerpiece, I made hair clips from a flower bouquet I purchased at a dollar store. The flower clips were added to tree branches I found from our yard which made the perfect centerpiece for our family room. Girls chose their favorite flower clip to go along with their aloha accessories. Activities for the party consisted of coloring hibiscus flowers and beach themed coloring pages, a paper leis craft station, hula lessons and a tiki piñata."
