Elephant Baby Shower- Party Dress Magazine

Photobucket

Today I'm featuring the ELEPHANT BABY SHOWER I styled for my sister. It recently made it's debut in The Party Dress Magazine. You can order the magazine here, or see the digital version here.

My sister has always loved elephants...so when it came to choosing a theme for her shower I had no problem! I wanted it to be bright, cheery, modern and fun. I had a pink color scheme, and also incorporated the pink chevron stripe into the mix.

I used a lot of ribbon, painted tubs to look like elephant steps, hung a painted vintage frame, placed flowers in apothecary jars, strung painted peanuts as a backdrop, used a changing table and a high chair as part of the setup, had a 'make your own italian soda' station, tied ribbon around cute drinking glasses and more.

That is an awesome idea and all of that is gorgeous. How would you cater a baby shower like this though? I have looked into this catering concord nc company, but I'm not 100% certain that I want to go with them. What can you suggest?

Thank you so much!! I'm blushing! You are all so sweet.

Nicole- The food you're asking about is strawberry shortcake rolls...I purchased them from a local bakery.

Anonymous- I found the high chair and changing table on craigslist.com. They were old & brown...I painted them :].

What a delightful looking baby shower! Did you hand paint the peanuts or spray paint them? Either way you are dedicated and very talented!

I love it! Everything is so cute and creative. I'm curious where you got (or how you made) the string of cut-out elephants that are hanging with the peanuts. And where did you find the elephant straws? Beautiful job!

I just stumbled over to you're blog/website from Pinterest and have to say I am SOOO impressed. This has to be one of the best sites I have been on. I love it! So many great ideas, my heads spinning a little lol :)

I'm doing a elephant themed bday party for my sons 1st bday on October 30th and would love it if you could share where you can buy or how u can make the little elephant bunting that went across ur sisters shower cake? Its so cute and would be just perfect for the cake I am making.

Thanks so much.
I write over at Team Mummy too.

I am not sure if you will see this comment, but I want you to know this is an adorable shower! I am planning my daughter's first birthday party and would love to incorporate parts of your decor to her party. We have been taking her monthly photos on a big stuffed elephant, so that is where I got my theme. I'm dying to pick your brain if you have the time!
