he man birthday party "he's the man"

Here's the birthday party I planned for my husband a few weeks ago.
Ben loved the 80's show, 'He Man' when he was a kid...so I decided to throw him a

"HE's the MAN" Birthday Party!

This party was a lot of fun. I had a great time searching for vintage He Man & She Ra items & decor {a lot of which I'm actually selling in my etsy shop here}.

I went with a yellow, red & blue color scheme...

Photos taken by me.

I found the vintage yellow table on my local online classifieds.

The cake topper is actually a collectible bank I found on eBay {It's available to purchase here}...

He Man & She Ra comic strip treat cones {can be purchased here} and Oh Henry bars converted into 'Oh Beny' Bars...
Photobucket

"Strong Man Candy" Jawbreakers {label available for purchase/download here}...

Here's the invitation I made for the party {can be purchased here}...

I used a vintage sheet for one of the tablecloths {available here}.

I used a collectible He Man mug {available here} to hold the yellow paper straws.

I wanted to incorporate She Ra into the party {what guy doesn't like She Ra?!} so I came up with these She Ra soda bottle wrappers! Aren't they fun?! Available to purchase here.
Photobucket

I used blue candy rocks {universe space rocks} to decorate the cupcakes.
Masters Of The Universe cupcake toppers available here.
Photobucket

Blue melamine plates found here.

I bought cherry & vanilla flavor syrup for the pepsi {I had extra bottles which I'm now selling here}...

WOW! So cute! I love all the details. The Oh Beny bars are fabulous. And I have to say I was cracking up at the cake. That bank was a fantastic find!! (Good luck with your new etsy shop!)

This party is so cool! My kids both have March bdays so this would be the perfect party to have for them together. Does it matter that I'm the one who watched He-Man? ;)

I wish I could buy all the stuff in your etsy shop and save it a few years!

This is awesome! He-Man and She-Ra were my FAVORITE cartoons as a child (second was Gem). I even bought the DVD's for my toddlers to watch when they're older. This is such a fun party idea - I will definitely have to throw this kind of a party in the near future. Thanks for the amazing pictures. Great website Kara!

OMG! This is EXACTLY the theme of the surprise party I'm throwing my husband this weekend! I was determined to go with the He-Man theme but was getting discouraged because I couldn't find a grown-up version of a He-Man party! This is FANTASTIC! Thanks for sharing!

So cute! My husband would love it. I was just wondering how you are able to sell the stuff with He-Man and She-Ra on it? Are those characters not copyright protected? Just wondering because I ran into problems printing invitations with licensed characters. Just wondering how to get around that part of it.
