Merry Christmas- Turquoise & Metallic Gold Party

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Christmas. May your weekend be full of the true Christmas Spirit.

This TURQUOISE AND METALLIC GOLD CHRISTMAS PARTY submitted by Suzanna Vasilevski of Mon Tresor is just lovely. I absolutely LOVE the mix of colors & hues. Look at all the shine & sparkle!

Here is what Suzanna said about the party- "I decided to opt for a colour palette this christmas that was a little non traditional. I am all about glitter and sparkle during the month of December, so it seemed fitting to introduce shades of glittery gold combined with turquoise and chocolate. For the backdrop I used symbols of christmas- a twig wreath that I added gold glitter too and a handmade ruffleed linen stocking.

On the dessert table I used three cakes in different shades of colour- gold, turquoise and sparkling snowflake white. My other weakness is warm cinnamon donuts and these were stacked elegantly on a milk glass stand that I adorned with a gold tassle fringe. Other sweets included chocolate cream cookies, honeycomb, turquoise m&m's, persian cotton candy, rock candy and christmas cookies.
Touches of christmas props such as the feather and the sparkle christmas trees, baubles and tote boxes adorned with candy canes and ribbon were also included on the table."

Mele Kalikimaka Christmas Birthday Party!

"Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say, on a bright, Hawaiian Christmas Day. That's the island greeting that we send to you from the land where palm trees sway. Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright. The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night. Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way, to say Merry Christmas to you!" OK, admit it. You're all singing the song in your head! Don't you wish we could all be in Hawaii this week?! I lived in Hawaii around 7 years ago...and oh how I miss it!

This MELE KALIKIMAKA CHRISTMAS BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Lynlee Beckett of Lynlee’s Petite Cakes has a special place in my heart. Isn't it just adorable? All the brown sugar for sand...the fondant surf boards, the melting snow men, the santa clause making a "sand" angel...the tiki hut gingerbread house...WOW. Oh, it's all just too cute.

Here is what Lynlee said about the party- "My husband's birthday is in the month of December and since he's a surfer boy, I thought I would add a bit of a tropical Christmas theme to the festivities!

I focused on tropical, Hawaiian-inspired decor by pairing traditional Christmas colors of red and green and some yellows/golds for a pop, along with neutrals to reflect the sand and natural elements. I utilized burlap fabric as a table covering, along with a strip in the center of the background that not only added some texture, but also hid a cabinet in our dining area!

Following along with the melding of island life with the holidays, I took the traditional gingerbread house and converted it into a surf shack! To save time, I purchased an already baked house and added fondant decorations, such as a palm tree with a string of lights. When I was browsing through the "dollar" aisles at Target, I found some accessories to decorate your own snowman, so placed it on some white cotton candy to show it melting in the hot, tropical sun!

The adorable "Mele Kalikimaka" Santa tags came from Starynight...they were free graphic downloads for digital scrapbooking! The little ornament holders came from Michaels, which I found at 50% off in the dollar section.

The fondant cupcake toppers included Santa making "sand" angels and Rudolph wearing a lei, among other tropical and holiday designs. They topped chocolate "lava" cupcakes and were displayed in wooden bowls with brown sugar to resemble sand.

Some other treats offered were pineapple cakes topped with fondant gingerbread men and women, decked out in their bathing suits and laying out and catching some rays on their fondant towels. We also had rice marshmallow treats serving as a stage for the hula dancing penguins, along with fondant surfboards and flowers!

As favors, we gave away Egg Nog in a Bag from Cost Plus World Market that, as the bag reads, you can simply "shake, freeze and squeeze"! Also from the Target dollar bins were some liqueur-infused chocolate boxes.

I had so much fun with this theme that was so fitting for both my husband and the holidays! We, of course, listened to Bing Crosby's classic "Mele Kalikimaka" song since it's Hawaii's way to say Merry Christmas to you!"

Buddy the ELF Christmas Party!

My next party feature goes to this awesome BUDDY THE ELF THEMED CHRISTMAS PARTY submitted by Dina Hafez of Deliciously Darling Events. Don't you just love this?! SO great. Dina is so creative! All of the punch lines, the themed food, the clever elements...so perfect.

Here is what Dina said about her party- "ELF has to be my favorite holiday movie of all times and thought it would be the perfect inspiration for our annual holiday Brunch. I mixed the traditional red and green holiday color pallet with a little baby blue to create this cheerful get together. I was so excited to work with the fabulous Anders Ruff Designs on the printables. The “Buddy the Elf” silhouette was my favorite part! I love working with creative and talented people - elements from Edible Details, The Purple Pug, Vintage Confections, Yummy Delicious Cookies by Whimsical Originals, The Whimsical Spoon and Shop Sweet Lulu's totally made this Brunch!

The main Brunch table consisted of traditional brunchy foods: savory mini quiches and roll ups, bagels and cream cheese, and lots of cakes and donuts! Being in the south, no table is complete without some Chick-fil-a Chicken Mini’s (which were the hit of the brunch). I wanted the brunch table to display Buddy’s journey from the North Pole to New York. Buddy passes through the Candy Cane Forest (the peppermint brownie cake pops) and through the sea of swirly twirly gumdrops (pastries with fondant gumdrops) then through the Lincoln Tunnel (the chocolate covered oreo tunnel).

The dessert table had beautiful Buddy the elf fondant cupcake toppers, delicious full size and mini cupcakes, amazing Buddy the Elf sugar cookies, and assorted cookies & French Macarons. I just love the E-L-F lollipops! So perfect and absolutely delicious!

The beverage station had Reindeer Root Beer, Orange Juice, Champagne and Milk - perfect to wash down all those sweets! Naturally, we served the “World’s Best Cup of Coffee”. I had to resist the urge to constantly congratulate guests on drinking the World’s Best Cup of Coffee a la Buddy the Elf. Finally, a little hot cocoa station is a must for holiday parties."

Candy Land Christmas Party

My next party feature will fill your minds with TONS of holiday party inspiration! This CANDY LAND CHRISTMAS PARTY submitted by Amanda Parker of Shindig Parties is absolutely amazing! Seriously, I can not even imagine how much time and effort went in to this. Amanda deserves a huge shout out! So many details, I can't believe it! LOVE love LOVE it all. Amanda definitely can explain her party better than I can so let's let her do the talking now...

Here is what Amanda said about the party- "I've always loved the idea of a Candy Christmas with lollipops and peppermint, gingerbread men and candy canes. For the table, it was important to set the holiday scene with an eye-catching backdrop. I got the idea while re-decorating my little boys' room and having a few frames left over which I thought would be perfect for showcasing some over-sized crafted candies made from felt, styrofoam and cellophane. These are an easy craft and come together in no time at all for very little money. In fact, the smaller styrofoam circles came from the Dollar Tree.

I love using thrift items to create unique table displays and created the cake plates from brass candlesticks and some plastic circular lazy susans found at Goodwill. After painting the candlesticks and lazy susans with white spray paint, I glue them together and then hot glued the eyelet around the edge of the plate. Adding a border of peppermints (adhered with hot glue) finished the edges and tied in perfectly with the candy theme. For the three candlesticks and the four platters, I spent a total of $9.50!

The topiary trees were another easy craft idea. For the taller trees, I used a poster board rolled into a cone shape and then alternated rows of 4" eyelet with rows of cherry fruit slices, glued on with hot glue (a crafting girl's best friend!). The smaller trees were heavier with more candy so I used a plastic megaphone-shaped cone from the Dollar Tree as a base and then covered it with white poster board. Next, I alternated gluing rows of peppermints with rows of the cherry fruit slices.

For the tablecloth, I used a white table cloth I already owned and bought two yards each of three different fabrics to create ruffles. This was a fun idea and created a bit of drama to balance the backdrop of the dessert table. Adding a store-bought red bow completed the look.

I was thrilled to collaborate again with the brilliantly talented Brittany Rumohr of Edible Details who created all of the amazing fondant toppers on the table. For the cake, I made my mother-in-laws famous coconut cake (a must-have at every holiday get together), surrounded it with peppermint sticks and topped it off with some of the Edible Details fondant lollipops, gingerbread men and jumbo gum drops.

From the fondant toppers on the cake to the Santa hat cupcake toppers, peppermint cookie toppers and the sweet little gingerbread men, I love how fondant makes it easy and quick to turn ordinary baked goods into something extraordinary. The cupcakes were all store-bought and believe it or not, the cookies were simply white chocolate covered Oreos which you can find for the holidays in grocery stores everywhere.

Over-sized campfire marshmallows dipped in white chocolate candy coating and then sprinkled with crushed peppermint are another simple but fun treat for a party. Adding a striped paper straw "stick" from Shop Sweet Lulu makes them fun and easy to eat, too. These make great party favors or classroom treats when wrapped individually with cellophane and tied with ribbon and a gift tag.

The Candy Christmas printables set was used throughout the table as dessert labels, cupcake toppers, cupcake wraps and more. One of my favorite ideas was the Santa hat cake pop holders. I printed the red and white dot paper from the printables set and cut cone shapes out. After rolling them into santa hat shapes, I added a little fur trim and topped them off with a cake pop for Santa's pom pom.

Red velvet cake parfaits were made in individual servings and topped off with cream cheese frosting and a sprinkle of crushed peppermint candy. Miniature felt Santa hats from Hobby Lobby made for a fun embellishment on the serving spoons.

Store-bought rice crispy treats already cut into serving size portions were dipped in white chocolate candy coating and then drizzled with red candy coating. Adding a small ribbon bow and a gingerbread logo from the Candy Christmas printables set made the simple desserts stand out.

Miniature candy wraps from the Candy Christmas printables set were placed in a glass bowl on the table and also placed inside of take home favor bags along with a few homemade holiday cookies.

Utensils were wrapped in red paper napkins and secured with a 2" peppermint candy printable from the collection and some white grosgrain ribbon made to resemble wrapped candy pieces. Drink glasses were simply small mason jars embellished with red and white checked ribbon and a sweet red button.

For the Hot Cocoa Bar, various widths of white ribbon and white tulle were stapled on a 1”x4” board to create a simple ribbon backdrop along with some craft store snowflakes. Food labels from the Candy Christmas printables set were used to label sundae glasses filled with various store bought yummies like M&M’s, chocolate chips and toffee. Peppermint marshmallows, chocolate covered peppermint sticks and chocolate peppermint spoons were placed close to the cocoa mugs for fun stirrers. Batting was used to simulate “snow” and a oversized snowman made from styrofoam balls was a fun focal point for the bar."
